Unit 5

I don’t think that I have developed a personal writing style. I usually wait till close to the time that a paper is due to write it, although I do get the research out of the way earlier. I wish I were more organized about writing but nothing seems to help me in that department.

• If there was one thing about your academic challenges, what would it be?
Is it just me, or is there something missing here? You would think that someone would proof-read this stuff, or I really am missing the point

• How is school influencing your life at or up to this point?
Hard one to answer. Still not sure about the topic of my paper, Suzanne gave me a good idea.

Unit 4 (plagiarism)

After reading our blogs this week it seems as though we are all in agreement about plagiarism. It is wrong and should not be tolerated. Kelly really nailed it; it is theft and a lie. It is sad that it seems that in this day and time the children seem to be getting the message that theft and lying are acceptable ways to get their work done. For example remember a while back the reporter that stole someone else’s work and reported as his own, or the show (can’t remember if it was 60 Minutes or Dateline or one of the other news magazines shows) where the parents wanted the teacher fired because she gave the children a failing grade I think it was because they bought some of their work. Anyway the message to the students was it is ok to cheat, and plagiarism is cheating.
It seems to be a double sided sword out there. Companies preach honesty, but at the same time they are constantly in the news for stealing and cheating.

How do I feel about being an online student? Love it! Going to school anytime I want to, dressed or undressed the way I want to, and any place I want to. What’s not to like? Being alone to figure out the answer to a problem I’m having with an assignment? Not, that’s what e-mails for. Not being able to share with other students? Remember e-mail, and the db is awesome. I am basically a loner but sometimes I do miss the personal contact, as some of my fellow classmates and I was talking about last week, modern technology seems to be replacing personal interaction between people. But I have noticed that I often let my funny-side get out more often than I would if I was on campus. Going to school online is a real life saver for me at this time since I need to be home to take care of my mother who needs round the clock care.
My biggest problem this term is, this, I hate being forced to write this blog. I know that it is an attempt to introduce us to as many forms of techno tools as possible.
Oh yea if any of you can give me some suggestions about a topic for this paper I would appreciate all the help you can give me, thanks.

Intro

Hello everyone, this is my blog for comp II, I named it desperation because I have a hard time with anyone reading anything that I've written. it feels like an invasion, but I am going to do my best to get throug this. I have read some of your pages and I am envious of you for making it seem so easy. at present we are waiting to hear if Chloe is going to have a little sister( birth mother has not made up her mind). we are alos looking for a new home, that will be closer to one of the bigger towns so Chloe will be in a better school distric and have the opportunity to participate in after school activities,we still have about 2 years before she startes school, so we are taking our time to find the perfect place.
